About Me

My name is Emily, but I love to be called Em and that is what I am mostly mereferred to as by my closest friends. I am 24 years old and a grad student at a local university, going for my masters in education. I have been blogging for about 2 years now and started out with another blog that talked about finding strength after recovering from an eating disorder. I can honestly say that blogging helped me in so many ways and now I am finding the strength to do things that I never could have imagined doing before. I met so many great people through blogging and got a lot of love and support from my readers. I took a year off from blogging because I was so busy with school and a full time job. But, I just couldn't stay away from the blogging community that I love so much! So, I decided to start fresh with a brand new blog, that focuses more on my NEW life and accomplishments, and the accomplishment that I am most proud of, my running.

Half Marathon! 016  I fell in love with running after I realized that, unlike other forms of exercise, when I was running I didn't care how many calories I was burning or how much I was running. Running made me want to get stronger, so I could go faster and run longer. I ran my first race a little over a year ago, and became addicted. It felt so great to be able to accomplish something like that. Since then I have been running races and training to make myself faster and stronger for the future. I recently ran my first half marathon, which was something that I never thought I would have the strength to do. Now I am training to run a better half marathon, and hopefully to complete a full marathon soon.

In addition to running, I love to have fun and get the most out of life. Hey, 134you only live once right? I love to travel, go out with friends, and laugh as much as possible. I have the most wonderful friends and family and would do anything for them. I am also obsessed with music, and am constantly making new playlists to run to or to listen to on road trips.

There are so many of you out there that inspired and encouraged me to grow while writing for my previous blog. Now I feel like I am in the right place to encourage othefightrs and set an example for how to overcome weaknesses. I am proud of the strength that I have acquired and have worked through many obstacles to get to this point. I still have obstacles to get through, of course, and there will always be challenges, but I feel that I can achieve anything that I set my mind to!
